Rockovery for Siki! Dapat masaya ang buhay!

Chiqui or Siki as fondly called by her colleagues at Y&R (her life for the past 25 years), has been called home by the Creator last 27th Sept 2013 at around 7pm due to cancer. Perhaps, heaven needs her more: friendliness, simple smile and infectious laughter, chikahan and asaran. Kulang kasi ng magandang singing, kalog angel sa heaven, kaya siya tinawag.

Never a boring or tiring office day with her. Surely, she will make you smile, laugh and forget about your worries and cares, siya ang ilaw ng Y&R, gamot sa puso for a meaningful life. Definitely a true friend in every sense of the word, she's dependable and can keep secrets. Puede kang humingi ng payo, and she will give you sensible advice. Once you get to know her well, ikaw  ang uulanin niya ng tanong, tungkol sa personal life mo. Kaya I returned the favor by asking her personal questions too, and she answered w/o batting an eyelash.

Alam niyo rin bang si Chiqui ay fashionista (magaling magdala ng damit at sexy tlga on skirt) at health buff (hindi yan kumakain ng baka, baboy, kurot lang pag sweets and junk food) kaya naman tinaguriang hot momma yan! Mahilig yan biruin ni Jun B. at ni (forgot name). In fact,  napagkamalan ko pa siyang 38 years old noong 2011! I don't know her real age.

I know you'll be forever smiling, laughing and watching us, your past & present Y&R family. Nalaman ko na hanggang sa huli, Chiqui gave her best for the company, kahit mahina na, pumapasok parin. Until 1 week later, when she was rushed to the hospital because she can no longer stand the pain.

Si Chiqui na ayaw magpa abala hanggang sa huli at sandyang ma-sekreto (I didn't know her illness until I was invited by Sab on FB for the Rockovery Concert at parang hindi rin alam ng ate niyang nasa US). Kami naman ang mag-aabala. Dahil mahal kita, at mahal ka naming lahat. Kahit matagal tayong di nag-usap at nagkita after I left the company, you were always a dear sister and friend to me. Hindi man ako nakapunta sa concert mo, I hope that my contribution helps.

Kung hindi lang ako nagmamadaling umalis patungong Singapore noon, I would have stayed because of Chiqui, kasi she's my guiding light in that office. She made everything lighter kahit na gusto ko ng sakalin yun cliente na saksakan ng tigas ng ulo at bastos.

Chiqui "Siki" Mendoza, I know you are forever smiling, laughing and watching your past and present Y&R family. Nagagalak akong makilala ka at maging parte ng buhay ko. Salamat!

The Karmic Ties that Bind

Did you know that the universe is made up of atoms and particles?
They say that you can choose your friends, but not your family.
Yet, I believe we do have choices, though not all are consciously made.
As a believer of spirituality and not religion, I believe that we chose our families,
but consciously I know that we'd like to be a member elsewhere.

As one of the atoms and particles, we are like magnets who attract what we like.
Like isn't necessarily good, but where we can grow and learn from, aka Soul lessons
for humans that are of different levels. This is what makes humans so unique because we
don't run away from danger. Instead, we go through danger.

'Like attracts like'. Subconsciously, we attract the good/bad people/situations that surround us.
I'm going to use myself as an example:
We are a family of 6, 2 parents and 4 children- 3 girls and 1 boy of varying ages.
Since I was young, I am the only person who was fascinated with life-- afterlife, past-life
and the spiritual life (not religion).

Educated in a Protestant school, I thought I could find life's answers in religion.
But it was only through Meditation, Yoga, Reiki and Theta Healing that I came to understand
my life, full-circle. I am now happy and at peace with myself, no longer materialistic.

Financially blessed, but I always felt that something was amiss. The material happiness
faded quickly. My folks are all 'spiritual toddlers' whose karmic path I have to undo.
Surely I sound vague right now, but here's an example:

My mother is a resentful person, while my dad's not learned his lessons.
Hence, my karmic ties with them is to live without regrets and to 'take it with a grain of salt
and run with it'.
To compare the spiritual hardships with material wealth, I thank them for the spiritual maturity
their lives have moulded me, today. However, I don't want to go through the same thing all over again,
or anyone else for that matter. Say, even the lack of money is something that you can work on and earn
from, but the soul lessons are much harder.

I thought I could consult them with 'soul matters' but they don't know anything about it.
Maybe they are corrupted with material wealth. They're posh, they've earned it, but
for me, what matters is what's inside the heart.

My journey to undo their karmic path continues, it's hard, but what's important
is that I am growing to seek my potential as a human being. I'm not going to disappoint
the Higher Being by living my life with an attitude of: Your plans don't work for me.
Because they really do. I've seen it in universe's time.
